Judge Craig David Karlan received his undergraduate degree Phi Beta Kappa from Yale College and his J.D. from Harvard Law School. After passing the California bar in 1991, he joined the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office where he specialized in violent crimes and white-collar prosecution. He has taught white-collar crime as a lecturer to the California District Attorneys Association and as an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University School of Law. He was appointed to the bench in 2002 by Governor Gray Davis.
