Judge Donald Fitzgerald Daffney is originally from New York and received his B.A. from California State University, Fullerton in 1988 and his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1991. After passing the California bar in 1991, he worked at Dewey, Ballantine, Bushby, Palmer & Wood until joining Newmeyer & Dillion LLP in 1992. Then, in 1995, he joined Palmieri, Tyler, Wiener, Wilhelm & Waldron where he remained until 1996 when he became a deputy district attorney in Orange County. In 2003, he joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office and stayed in that role until he was appointed to the bench by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2008.
